Meet Popcorn

As I said a week or two ago, unfortunately one of my Guinea Pigs died. As Guinea Pigs like company we decided as Honey is still young to get her another friend. So we went back to Pets At Home and did just that! We came back with a gorgeous, fluffy, brown and white Guinea Pig who (after much deliberation) is called Popcorn.

It wasn't exactly love at first sight when Honey met Popcorn but after a day they were sharing the same hay ball and everything was fine!

GUINEA PIG ARRIVAL!

Friday was the day my boyfriend and I chose our very beautiful Guinea Pigs! We bought them from Pets At Home and put them in their cage here to settle down while we discussed potential names!

Nibbles and Honey were the chosen names - and very well suited too! Nibbles likes to chew/naw/pull at the water bottle and Honey is a beautiful light brown colour! Both are bundles of mischief though and like to charge round their cage at unearthly hours.

A Guinea Pig Product Haul!

As I'm sure you all know my boyfriend and I are getting Guinea Pigs in a weeks time - eeeek! As I haven't had a pet in a long time I had to buy absolutely everything for their arrival from a cage to a carrier to the straw! I got all of this from PetPlanet and the stuff came in two huge boxes within a week - very good service if I do say!!

Here's what I got:

A cage, this one is about a metre long which is perfect for them!

A little carrier so I can take them to and from places i.e the pet shop!

A little, furry bed which I think is adorable!

Some cleaning spray

Hay for bedding, eating and lining the cage

Another little hiding place for them

Some food

Some things to nibble on as their teeth grow constantly!

A comb, play tube, drinks bottle and a food bowl

And lastly a play pen for them!

I will probably get more food and some litter things for them when I get them from the pet shop. Hope you liked this haul!

A New Addition...

When I was younger I had two pets, the first was a Hamster named Polly and when she was put down I then had another Hamster called Molly. This was about ten years ago and I have not had a pet since! 

If you have been following my blog for a while you will know that I LOVE CATS, but unfortunately they can be expensive (and I'm trying to save!) and my Dad is allergic to them.

So on to what I am actually getting: GUINEA PIGS! My boyfriend and I are going to be getting a Guinea Pig each and they will live together (as they like to have company). 

We have both been doing a lot of research into what they like and what we need for their arrival so I thought I'd share with you each step of the process! The other evening we went to our local Pets At Home store and I wanted to take every single Guinea Pig home with me, so choosing just one (as we're choosing one each) will be a challenge!

We have recently bought £90 worth of supplies for the Guinea Pigs including a cage, bed, hay and some toys, so keep your eyes peeled for a post on that when it all arrives!
