10 Things I Used To Do That I Wish I Still Did

Cross country - I used to find running exhilarating, I was never particularly good, as in I never won or came close to winning, but I loved it all the same - running through mud in the rain was just my thing! Not so much anymore!

Netball - I used to be a sporty person in general. I was actually more of a tomboy with hair scraped back and always in trousers, the only time I was seen in a skirt was when I was playing netball. I was pretty good in all positions and played for my town and later was selected to play for my county. I really loved it but had to give it up as the training was conflicting with my studying at school

Spanish - I got a B at GCSE but really wanted an A, I guess it shows I wasn't too bad at it but I've always wanted to speak fluently in another language, sad to say I have given up for the time being. There's still plenty of time though!

Keyboard - I've never really been a 'music' person, I don't often listen to music or sing (although I would like singing lessons in the future), but when I got my keyboard I honestly thought I'd play on it EVERYDAY and I did for about half a year...and then...I stopped. I do occasionally blow the dust off it if I want to learn a particular song though, managed to play 'I Need Your Love' by Ellie Goulding a few months back!

Swim - I used to go a fair amount with Mum just for fun and then starting lane swimming - I used to do 100 lengths (what was I thinking!) but again, I just don't anymore, the chlorine got to me and my hair more than I wanted and it is pretty time consuming doing that many lengths!

Read - It sounds horrendous considering I love English and would love to be a journalist but I literally never read books. Blogs, yes. Articles, yes. But fiction wise no, I really want to start getting back into reading I have a pile of books I want to read but no motivation as of yet!

Photography - I used to take quite a lot of photos, especially at my parents' allotments in the Summer, but again now that everyone has phones with a fairly decent camera I just take photos with mine, which are no where near the quality of the photos from my camera so I end up not liking them!

Make collages - I used to make collages on a weekly basis. It used to be collages of all my stickers or my favourite celebrities from all the teen magazines, but then they moved onto a more 1960's vibe and I started making collages with Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn on. I used to spend hours selecting the photos I wanted, printing them, cutting them and sticking them together, those were the days!

Write stories - I suppose we all did this as a child, but at the age of about 15 I thought 'right, I'm going to do this. I'm going to write a book and get it published' unfortunately I never really planned it out, I just wrote for the sake of writing so I never got anywhere near to finishing it!

Collect things - I was forever collecting things as a youngster: stickers, postcards, fossils/nice stones you name it I had the lot! Although I suppose nowadays being a 'hoarder' is somewhat looked down upon, I'd love to have an interest in something to the extent where I'd try and collect as many of it as possible!

What did you used to do?

10 Annoying Things About Make Up

make up
  1. Generally, the best make up is the most expensive
  2. It takes quite a lot of time to put on and take off properly
  3. Not being able to wake up and go straight out whilst looking presentable!
  4. Smudging your mascara because you've blinked or sneezed
  5. Buying a foundation which makes you look like an Oompa Loompa
  6. Poking yourself in the eye with eyeliner, mascara or anything else
  7. Getting powder/blush on your clothes
  8. Finding storage for it all!
  9. Having too much choice in a shop and taking AGES deciding which product to get
  10. You don't want to wear it because you should embrace 'natural beauty' but you don't want to scare anyone away!
