How To: Add Related Pages

Okay, so some of you may have noticed that my blog has recently undergone some changes one of which is that under each post there is now a 'You may also like' section. The most popular related pages widget is 'LinkWithin,' however after doing a bit of research I found out that it actually redirects traffic from your blog through their website and then links it back to your blog meaning that all the traffic you get they get too.

Instead of using LinkWithin I've used nRelate which I like as you can format how you'd like the pages to show up and it doesn't steal your 'internal link juice' like LinkWithin!
nRelate
Here's how I did it!
Go onto their website which I'll link HERE, and click on 'LOG IN' if you have an account, I assume you already have your widget but if not then click Register and complete the details needed
You'll then come to this page where you'll need to click the blog type which is relevant to you, and then type in your websites URL
After that, decide where you want the related pages to be on your blog and you'll be directed to your blog so that you can add the widget
After this, you will be presented with your layout page, it doesn't really matter where it is on the page, but make sure you SAVE it!! After this go back to the page before it redirected you where it asked you where on your blog you'd like the widget, and underneath it has a little bit about editing the widget, click that and this page will come up:
You can then go ahead editing and formatting the widget so it's personal to you and your blog, you can even change how the photos are presented too!
Don't forget to click update and then you will have yourself some related pages!

Hope this helped some people, I know a lot of people already have this widget but as a fairly new blogger it was still on my to do list!

Tips For Better Blogging

I am still a fairly new blogger but I thought I'd do a post on what my tips would be for anyone who asked me how they could be a better blogger!

Turn off word verification - it's a bit of a pain in the bum having to do a word verification when you only want to leave a nice comment on someones post! So try and remove it as it will make commenting easier!

Reply to comments where possible - I think it's polite and shows you've read the comments,  however clearly if there are thousands of comments on your post it would be rather time consuming to do!

Comment on other people's posts - it's a great way of talking to other bloggers and sharing your views and opinions with them

Post consistently - whether it be everyday or once a fortnight as long as it's consistent I think that's good!

Join in the twitter chats - they're fun and a great way to network and talk to other bloggers! HERE's a link to the Twitter chats!

Blog about what YOU want to - don't feel pressured to blog about certain things, products or people just because others are, just be YOU

Enjoy it! - If you're not happy blogging it will come across in your posts so if you don't feel like writing a post don't feel you have to, as long as you're happy nothing else matters!

Hope you found these tips helpful!

10 Things I Love About Blogging

Hi chums!

I'm still fairly new to blogging but thought I'd make a list of things I'm loving at the moment regarding blogging!

1. It gives me something to do which is productive - rather than watch pointless TV

2. Receiving comments - it's so nice to know that my posts are actually being read!

3. Taking/editing photos - photography is another hobby of mine so I love how
photography and blogging combine so well!

4. Meeting new people who share the same interests as me

5. Finding new blogs

6. It gives me a platform to share and express my views, opinions and experiences

7. It's a good distraction from reality!

8. Sharing and receiving advice about blogging

9. I can have a good nosey at what other people get up to, haha!

10. Gaining followers - it's lovely to see that people actually want to follow me!

I hope you enjoyed this post and enjoy blogging as much as me!

A Beautiful Evening and my First Week of Blogging!

HI!

So last night was really beautiful here, it had been a nice sunny day and it was nearly 10 o'clock. The colours in the sky were stunning: reds, pinks, oranges, blues and purples could all be seen - a perfect Summer's evening!

How beautiful?!
Today also marks my one week 'anniversary.' It may not seem like a long time at all but I'm proud to have kept it up everyday for a whole week! I cannot promise to keep blogging everyday - unfortunately A-Levels and work will probably get in the way at some point! But I will definitely be blogging at least once a week, I repeat AT LEAST.

Going to leave this short and sweet, so until next time chums!
