A Beautiful Evening and my First Week of Blogging!

HI!

So last night was really beautiful here, it had been a nice sunny day and it was nearly 10 o'clock. The colours in the sky were stunning: reds, pinks, oranges, blues and purples could all be seen - a perfect Summer's evening!

How beautiful?!
Today also marks my one week 'anniversary.' It may not seem like a long time at all but I'm proud to have kept it up everyday for a whole week! I cannot promise to keep blogging everyday - unfortunately A-Levels and work will probably get in the way at some point! But I will definitely be blogging at least once a week, I repeat AT LEAST.

Going to leave this short and sweet, so until next time chums!

'Whittard's Caramel Hot Chocolate' Review

Elllllooo!

Okay, so I know it's Summer and the weather is actually pretty good here (for England anyway!) but sometimes it's still nice to have a bubbly bath and a drink of nice hot chocolate.

I'd heard a lot about Whittards and my friends really recommended their hot chocolates - as somewhat of a 'chocoholic' I thought I might as well try them out. I bought my first ever Whittards product (this hot chocolate) in the Whittards store in Bath and have had some really nice drinks out of it, so thought I would leave you a little review!

Here's my mug...
I always have my hot chocolate just made with milk - a personal preference!
I usually put the milk in the microwave for just under 2 minutes as I like it HOT so it lasts!
Whittard's Caramel Hot Chocolate
And here it is: Whittard's Caramel Hot Chocolate in all its pride and glory!
I often put about 3/4 teaspoons of hot chocolate in as I like mine to be quite strong
The end result!
I really like this hot chocolate - even lifting the lid of the tub you get a waft of caramel chocolate! I like that it's quite a powdery hot chocolate rather than a gritty one with lots of sugar granules. I find I do have to put in quite a few teaspoons for me to actually taste the caramel though, but it could just be my taste buds - or the fact that I prefer my hot chocolate to be nice and chocolatey! Having said this, the thing that I don't like about the hot chocolate is that no matter how long and hard you stir it, there always seems to be quite a lot of powder at the bottom of the mug which has not mixed in with the rest of the milk leaving some brown gloop staring me in the face - yum. Overall though, I do really like this hot chocolate and as soon as I've finished it I'll be trying out another one from their variety of flavours!

I hope you enjoyed reading my short review. I'll leave a link to all of the Whittard's Hot Chocolate flavours HERE

Until next time!

Theory Test Hints & Tips

Hullo there chums!

My theory test is in the not so distant future and I wanted to share with you some of the things that have been helping me prepare for it.

For those that don't know, you have to pass your theory test before you do your practical driving test - the pass rate is 43/50. The theory test is made up of 50 questions (which AREN'T all 'common sense' as some people might tell you) they can involve questions on road signs, braking distances, documents and many more things to do with driving! Then there is a hazard perception test which is a series of clips which have a hazard in them e.g a cyclist swerving in front of your car, and you have to click the screen when you think you see a hazard.

I have 'The Official DSA Theory Test for Car Drivers' book, which I bought on Amazon I'll leave a link to the exact copy of it HERE. This book is brilliant! It has lots of information and pictures as well as many, many mock theory questions and answers which have really helped me!

Lots of helpful tips - I like that it really does try to explain everything

The mock theory questions are so good, there are sooo many!

The all important answer pages!
I also use a number of free apps - I'll link them as I go so you can find out more about them! They all have mock theory questions and answers, and because they can be downloaded onto your phone you can practice on long journeys or when you're out and about without having to take the book with you should you choose to buy one!

100 highway code signs+ Theory - This one has LOADS of road signs which I found really useful as it has more than what's in the book!

AA Theory Test - Free Edition

Most of the questions on the apps are quite 'samey' but it's all good practice! I'll also link a few good websites I found for mock theory tests and hazard perception which I really did find useful - probably the most useful thing out of what I've previously mentioned.

The only other thing left to say is use experience from driving in your tests, e.g sometimes questions ask what gear to go in when going downhill, so ROLE PLAY and put yourself in the drivers seat and think what you would do!

I hope you find all my advice and links useful - GOODLUCK!

New Boots and the Perks of Online Banking!

Hi chums!

So today I decided ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH and did something I've been meaning to do for months and months! It's just a small (not very interesting) thing but I'm so pleased I've done it!

I SET UP ONLINE BANKING!!!!

It all began a while back when I suddenly realised I'd spent quite a bit of money and had absolutely no idea what was left in my account, I feared the worst - having my card declined in a machine when I had a basket full of things and a queue of people now staring at me, luckily that didn't happen.

I made a trip to town just to put my card into the machine and press a few buttons so it could tell me my balance and how much I'd spent, it sounds like a lot of effort - it's really not as town isn't a long walk - but to think other people had the LUXURY of online banking and could just check their balance with their laptop or phone made me jealous.

To set it up, I booked a meeting with my bank who then asked me a few questions and told me to think of some security answers and numbers and then I was back off home ready to set it all up with the step-by-step instructions they gave me! And now here I am, with all the other online bankers who can just check their balance or transfer money with just a few clicks! So if you haven't already, join online banking! It's a lot easier than taking a trip to town and checking it using a machine, or even waiting for your next bank statement to come through the post!

Whilst in town I also bought some new boots, as mine had sadly broken after serving me a good few months and came in especially handy during the wet Winter Britain had endured!

An emotional time - broken shoes!
Here are the two pairs of boots I bought from Primark in replacement for the broken ones:

Primark, boots
I really love the wedges on these - perfect for a shorty like me!
These were £15 from Primark, they are leather (so will hopefully keep me dry in showers and any puddles I may be tempted to jump into!) and have an elastic side panel. I really like that they're just 'slip on and off' boots and I think they'd go well with a lot of my outfits. I'd probably wear them with black leggings and a top, but I could wear them with a skater skirt too if I was feeling up to it!

The second pair I got were £10 and for work as we have to wear black shoes as part of our uniform. I found these boots sooo comfy when I tried them on in the shop - it's not often I try on a pair of shoes and within 5 seconds decide I'm buying them! They're suede, so probably won't keep me too dry if I'm caught in some rain - inevitable living in Britain!

Primark, boots
(Not quite) Blue suede shoes, but they'll do all the same!
Hope you enjoyed this rather random blog of my trip to town!
