Harry Potter TAG

Genevieve created this and I thought I'd give it a go!

  1. First experiences of Harry Potter? Probably when the first two films used to be on TV
  2. Which film have you watched the most? Probably The Chamber Of Secrets as they ALWAYS seem to show that one on ITV!
  3. What was your favourite Harry Potter film? Probably the fifth one, the Order of the Phoenix because it's where everything seems to get quite a bit darker
  4. Favourite moment out of all Harry Potter films? Probably in the last film where you really see what Professor Snape is really like: a lovely character!
  5. If you could be any character from Harry Potter who would you be and why? Hmm Luna Lovegood I thing as she always seems dreamy, happy and quirky and I thought she was very pretty too!
  6. If you could learn one thing at Hogwarts what would it be? Either how to be invisible or how to travel in time...probably the last one!
  7. Favourite teacher at hogwarts? Professor McGonagall, she was like a Mother to Harry and all the students really and I love Maggie Smith!
I tag anyone reading this!

How To: Add Related Pages

Okay, so some of you may have noticed that my blog has recently undergone some changes one of which is that under each post there is now a 'You may also like' section. The most popular related pages widget is 'LinkWithin,' however after doing a bit of research I found out that it actually redirects traffic from your blog through their website and then links it back to your blog meaning that all the traffic you get they get too.

Instead of using LinkWithin I've used nRelate which I like as you can format how you'd like the pages to show up and it doesn't steal your 'internal link juice' like LinkWithin!
nRelate
Here's how I did it!
Go onto their website which I'll link HERE, and click on 'LOG IN' if you have an account, I assume you already have your widget but if not then click Register and complete the details needed
You'll then come to this page where you'll need to click the blog type which is relevant to you, and then type in your websites URL
After that, decide where you want the related pages to be on your blog and you'll be directed to your blog so that you can add the widget
After this, you will be presented with your layout page, it doesn't really matter where it is on the page, but make sure you SAVE it!! After this go back to the page before it redirected you where it asked you where on your blog you'd like the widget, and underneath it has a little bit about editing the widget, click that and this page will come up:
You can then go ahead editing and formatting the widget so it's personal to you and your blog, you can even change how the photos are presented too!
Don't forget to click update and then you will have yourself some related pages!

Hope this helped some people, I know a lot of people already have this widget but as a fairly new blogger it was still on my to do list!

#HeForShe: Emma Watson's UN Speech

I don't usually post on Thursdays but I couldn't not post about this. Can we all just take a minute...I loved this speech Emma Watson did it's so motivating, inspirational and powerful. If there's one thing you do today it should be to watch this:
I think it's great that someone so well known, who has grown up in the eyes of the World has taken such a big and controversial topic to discuss and support. I love how she addresses the topic and admits that it is often associated with 'man haters' and I think it's admirable how she uses her public figure not to get drunk and party but to take on political and social issues.

My Make Up Bag

I thought I’d give you an insight into my make-up bag just for fun, I don’t class myself as a beauty blogger and my make-up collection isn’t high end or very big but I thought I’d show you it anyway! Also these are my main products I use on a day to day basis not every single product I have!

So this is my bag I got for free for spending a certain amount of money in Clinique, I don't really like it if I'm honest but there we are haha it's something to keep my make up in!
make up bag
I've always used this moisturiser I really like it as it's not too heavy but does the job!
simple moisturiser
This is my best foundation everrrr! I have been through SO many foundations from Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse to Maxfactor Colour Adapt to Bourjois Healthy Mix. I finally found this one and I am so happy! It hides blemishes well so I don’t need to use concealer and it matches my pale skin so well! HERE’s a review I wrote on it.
clinique foundation
I also use this foundation for days where I'm not doing much - maybe going to town or something, does anyone else have a cheaper low quality foundation they use on down days?
maxfactor foundation
This is the powder I use it’s not particularly fancy or anything because I just use it to set the liquid foundation really and I don’t want it to add any extra colour to my face as I'm naturally quite pale.
collection pressed powder
I’m loving this Urban Decay Eyeliner recently, it’s long lasting and I love the fine tip as it enables me to thicken the line if I want to rather than using it and it being a thick line whether I like it or not! HERE’s a review I did on it.
Urban Decay Ink For Eyes
I also got this Eye Mousse free at Boots and I lovee it! This is what it looks like on - such a nice Wintery look!
I also have the Collection gel liner, I used to have the Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama, but I haven't noticed much difference between the two brands and Collection is cheaper! I mainly use it for lining my tight line so it lasts me quite a while too!
I recently bought this mascara and at first I didn’t like it, there didn’t seem to be much product in the tube and not much came out on the wand but after about a month of using it I really began to like it! It doesn’t smudge or leave black marks under my eyes like some other mascaras seem to and it seems to be an old time favourite for many!
Hope you enjoyed browsing my make up!

Sweet Surprises

The other day my parents went to Bath without me (as I was working) and after a long day at work I came back to find that they had bought me a nice jar of Rhubarb and Custards and some chocolate Fish and Chips! They are mostly all gone now but I thought I’d do a short post on them anyway! I love rhubarb and custards, they’re colourful and small and just really nice and my favourite side is the yellow custard bit haha!

What are your favourite sweet treats?

How To: Have a Lazy Day

My life can sometimes be pretty hectic and busy - not to mention stressful - so occasionally I'll have days where I pretty much do nothing but lay in bed all day on my laptop. I thought I'd share with you how my lazy days pan out!

Firstly, I love my teddies! I don't care that I'm WAY past the age of having them, they're soft and comfy and have been with me since I was very young so I love being in bed with them haha!
Another thing I love is my dressing gown, I bought it from Marks & Spencer and it's really big and nice and fluffy, I look so frumpy in it but I'm too comfy in it to care! Also cosy socks are a must!
I usually watch TV catch up, YouTube or films on my laptop in bed or sometimes I look through old photos of past holidays etc.
Sometimes I'll have some treats with me too and if I'm feeling really lazy and in need of some real comfort I'll order a pizza! A hot chocolate is a must have for me on a lazy day too.

Hope you liked this post and it gave you more of an insight into what I get up to on my down days!

Day Out At The Theatre!

Last week I went to the Old Vic Theatre in London to see The Crucible! It was VERY good, I loved Proctor who was played by Richard Armitage (The Hobbit) his voice was incredible and his acting ability stood out above the other actors (although they were also very good in their roles!)

The girls were especially good, the fitting and seizures were incredible and Betty's fitting in Act 1 was so believable! The scene changes were good as well, there was no scurrying to make way for the next scene it was all fluidly done, taking their time as if it was still part of the play! The music and lighting was also very good and created an eerie atmosphere! The only thing I'd say was that the seats were pretty incomfortable and personal space was near non-existant!

On the way back from London we stopped off at Fleet services and I had a KFC and my first ever Krushem it was a Skittles one and was quite tasty! I also bought some treats to keep me awake as we didn't get back till 3am the following day and we left at 1.30pm!

Views, Beach, Cinema and Famous Actors!

Last week I went to a place called Ham Hill, it’s basically a high up area where you can look down on the surrounding towns and villages. The hills looked so green in the evening sun and there were lots of pretty pink and purple flowers I wish I knew the name of!
Ham Hill

We then went to Bridport and saw Broadchurch being filmed which was a nice surprise although we inevitably weren’t allowed to take photos of what was being filmed. Further down the beach there was a bigger surprise awaiting us. David Tennant, Olivia Coleman, Arthur Darvill and many other actors and actresses were doing a photo shoot for the highly anticipated second series! After a quick dinner of cheesy chips which were sooo good, we headed back to our home town to go to the cinema.

We watched Before I Go To Sleep which I really liked however I did find it a bit scary and jumpy in some parts! The cast was very strong and I thought Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth made an excellent team acting together to convey the eerie plot!
